A letter to parents of competitive athletes.

Dear Parent,

You've seen it happen.

Your athlete works hard in practice, shows flashes of brilliance... but then, something shifts. Maybe they get stuck after mistakes. Maybe that voice in their head continues to sabotage them. Maybe they play tentative instead of confident.

The frustrating part? You know they're capable of so much more.

Here's what I've learned in 25+ years of coaching athletes: The difference between good and great isn't usually physical ability... it's mental. And the good news? Mental skills can be trained, just like any other skill.

I'm Coach Bob, and I help high school athletes develop the mental skills, focus, and confidence that show up when it matters most. No complicated psychology. Just practical techniques that athletes can use immediately.

I work with athletes who struggle with:

  • Getting stuck after mistakes or bad plays

  • Self-doubt and negative self-talk

  • Playing great in practice but tight in competition

  • Pre-game nerves and performance anxiety

  • Pressure from expectations (their own or others')

  • Confidence that comes and goes

My approach is simple: I meet athletes where they are, give them tools that actually work, and help them build mental skills that transfer to every area of life (not just sports).

Not sure if this is right for your athlete?

Let's just talk. No pressure. No sales pitch. Just a conversation about what your athlete is dealing with and how I might be able to support them.

The easiest way to reach me:

Text me: 402-499-1185
Call me: 402-499-1185
Email me: Bob@CBAPerformance.com

We can set up a quick 10-15 minute call to see if working together makes sense.

A bit about me:

I've been a performance coach for over 25 years, working with athletes from youth sports through professional levels. I'm a Kolbe Certified Consultant, which means I understand how athletes naturally think and operate—and how to work with their natural strengths, not against them.

But more than credentials, what matters is this: I've seen the mental side of sports keep so many athletes from reaching their potential, and I've helped them break through to the next level. I know what works, and I know how to make it simple enough that athletes actually use it.

If your athlete is ready to develop their mental game to match their physical abilities, I'd love to help.

Sincerely,

--- Coach Bob
